About Shelby

Shelby is the vision and creatrix behind the beloved brand Tamed Wild, where modern magick meets ancient wisdom. An archetypal astrologer, published author, and passionate storyteller, Shelby weaves history, folklore, and myth into everything she creates. She holds a BA in Anthropology and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Creative Writing and Literature at Harvard Extension School. She earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Ancient Religions at the University of Wales, deepening her lifelong devotion to the study of the sacred, the strange, and the unseen.

Shelby is also the founder of Tenth House Rising, an online educational space and active community focused on seasonal living and connecting with the wheel of the year. Here she leads courses and webinars on myth, the sabbats, and astrology, where she guides students through the archetypes of the stars and the stories that shape our own.

She also hosts The Moon in Carolina, a podcast that blends myth, folklore, and personal storytelling to explore what it means to live a life rooted in both magic and meaning.

Rooted in the Appalachian mountains, she shares her life with her husband and their beloved pets. She is a mother of two adult children and is learning to live in a newly empty nest. Whether she's writing about life in an old manor, mythic archetypes, or the spirits of the land, Shelby invites others to reclaim ritual, remember the old stories, and connect with the cycles that shape our lives.

You can find her online as @themoonincarolina, where she shares her love of antiques, seasonal living, and the mystical threads that bind us all.
